Tattoos and authenticity are this international cultural icon’s trademarks.
Based in : Montreal
Rebel at heart, punk culture fanatic and ardent tattoo lover, Zombie Boy could never have guessed a picture of him in Dress to Kill magazine would change the course of his entire life.
His photo caught the eye of the influential Nicola Formichetti, then designer for Mugler and stylist for Lady Gaga, who invited him to Paris Fashion Week to walk his runway show. The rest is history.
A cameo in Gaga’s Born This Way video, photo sessions with the likes of famous photographers Steven Klein and Terry Richardson, features in GQ, Vanity Fair and Vogue Japan, a contract with L’Oréal as their first male ambassador – the one who people also call Rico the Zombie has certainly disrupted the definition of beauty and male aesthetic.
“Beauty is about being yourself - and being different is better. Everyone should embrace being different.”
Although fame is now part of his everyday life, he doesn’t let it go to his head. His authenticity is what made him successful in the first place. He’s sure not letting it go.
